Weekly Poll Results: Best Jack Black Movie

Jack Black has always been known for his musical side and rocker persona, so it’s appropriate to see The School of Rock and High Fidelity voted up as his two strongest films to date. That said, I’m a bit surprised that Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny was ranked as high as it was, considering that it was pretty poorly received (I still haven’t seen it). The remaining titles in the top 5, as voted by the readers of Film Junk, are Tropic Thunder and Be Kind Rewind. Does that sound right to you? By the way, I didn’t realize Saving Silverman had quite so many fans. Would it have actually have made the top 5 if it had been included? I wonder…
1. The School of Rock — 25.6%
2. High Fidelity — 20.4%
3. Tropic Thunder — 9.5%
4. Be Kind Rewind — 8.8%
4. Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny — 8.8%
6. Kung Fu Panda — 8.3%
7. Nacho Libre — 7.5%
8. Orange County — 5%
8. King Kong — 5%
10. Margot at the Wedding — 1%

Posted by Shut-Up Ed on June 24th, 2009My fav is The Jackal! I love seeing jack black getting blasted by Willis and his big ole gun!
Posted by cronenfly on June 24th, 2009Although i love High Fidelity I dont consider it a good choice in the poll because he wasn’t much of an important character
Posted by Kasey Ruiz on June 25th, 2009as much as he was the comic relief
I believe Nacho Libre was one of his best rolls
I tend to think the Tenacious D votes for more or less voting for Tenacious D as a Jack Black vehicle as a whole.
Posted by Goon on June 25th, 2009tenacious d in the pick of destany is a great movie. even though i’m just 13, i still love the movie. school of rock was great 2. all it was about was that Jack wanted to “teach some kids how to rock their fucken socks off.” ( as Jack Black says. i think.) tropic thunder is mainly about 3 or 4 people trying to make a movie without thier dictor. be kind rewind, all it talks about is jack get elecrutued by a plant. orang county ( sorry i can’t spell today.) is about lans’s brother trying to get in one spusific school so he could get help from a writter on his writting. and that is … oh i forgot, haha, kong fu panda. good movie. teaching a panda how to become one of the 5.
