Does the Sistine Chapel really have to cleave in just the right spot for the Apocalypse to be riveting? This movie is gonna be an embarrassment to everyone involved and lay flat like Emmerich's other stinking turds. If anything, I'd welcome the apocalypse just to get this hack out of the film industry.
