The Haunting In Connecticut Sequel Moves to Georgia

When a movie makes $55 million domestically despite having no major stars in it, apparently that’s more than enough money to justify a sequel… which is why Gold Circle Films will be starting development on a sequel to their spring hit The Haunting in Connecticut. The sequel, likely to be titled The Haunting in Georgia, will not feature any of the same characters, and instead will focus on a new family in a new state. It will be connected by name and premise only. Ti West (Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever) has signed on to direct.
The Haunting in Connecticut was billed as being “based on a true story”, which is always a good trick to make a horror movie seem slightly more scary. If they do enough research, I’m sure they can probably find a family in Georgia that claims to have lived in a haunted house too. Then they can say the sequel is loosely based on real events too! Lionsgate, who distributed the original, has the option to release this one as well, which could possibly become a lucrative franchise to help replace the Saw series as interest wanes. Hey, at least we know there’s potential for at least 48 more sequels after this one.

no need to find a new family. the sequel isn’t actually a sequel it’s based on a story featured in the same show, The Haunting in Connecticut was, “A Haunting” on the discovery channel. This show is also true and you can watch both documentary episodes on you tube.
