Bullitt is not a ’70s movie, it was made in 1968. It did kind of presage the ’70s cop movie with a grittier, more violent and pessimistic tone, so I guess you can include it in the list despite it not strictly being from the ’70s.

Nice to see Pelham 123 on the list. It’s one of those films that gets better with repeated viewings and the humor throughout (particularly Matthau keeping a straight face when saying some pretty funny stuff) makes it even more entertaining.

Yes, I think when it comes down to it, Dirty Harry is just way more rewatchable. I appreciate French Connection for what it does and the gutsy ending, but its such a bleak downer of a movie. Also, Dirty Harry has the better soundtrack by far.

Dirty Harry also has one of the best soundtracks ever, really over-looked.
