Martin Scorsese’s Shutter Island Trailer Starring Leonardo DiCaprio
Heads up folks — the trailer for Martin Scorsese’s next film Shutter Island has finally arrived online, and I’m happy to say it was well worth the wait! Based on the novel by Dennis Lehane (Gone, Baby, Gone, Mystic River) this is a thriller set in the ’50s about two U.S. marshals who are called to investigate the disappearance of an inmate from a hospital for the criminally-insane. Oh… and the hospital also happens to be a super creepy castle-like structure on a remote island off the coast of Massachusetts. This looks like it could be the closest Scorsese has come to directing a horror movie since… Cape Fear?
Yes, it is yet another Scorsese film with Leonardo DiCaprio in the lead, but the supporting cast is also extremely deep. You’ve got everyone from Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley, John Carroll Lynch and Michelle Williams, to Emily Mortimer, Jackie Earle Haley and Max von Sydow. How can you go wrong?
