The Twilight Saga: New Moon Trailer

Well about half of the world’s movie-going population was eagerly anticipating the first trailer for Twilight: New Moon, while the rest of us probably couldn’t care less. It debuted last night at the MTV Movie Awards, and now… here it is! I’m afraid I can’t offer much insight, but it does seem weird to me that you can’t have vampires without eventually bringing werewolves into the picture. I’ve been trying to get caught up with the first season of True Blood, and in comparing the two, True Blood just seems so much smarter. I know it’s intended for a different audience, but Twilight appears to be all surface and no depth. I may eventually see the first Twilight movie just for the sake of staying in the loop, but there’s not much here to make me think I’ll continue through the rest of the series. Twilight fans, have your say… is this trailer everything you had hoped for? New Moon hits theatres on November 20th.

i love you i wanna stay with you
i cant be around you i’m afraid i will hurt you..
i promise i wont leave again
i’m afriad for you i will never see you again
blah…blah…blah…blah
if the movies are as dull with characters as detatched as the characters in the movies then stepheny myers really needs to work on her writing. It seems to me the basis of her books is edward and bella coming together and then breaking up, with minor action inbetween. and why would he break up with her in the middle of no where instead of at her house.
i’m sorry but this story is just retarted. Of course i will probably go see the movie just becuase everyone else will and i wanna keep up with the times, and also give an unbiased argument. I might find myself shocked and actually like it. we will just have to wait and see.
Posted by Rick on June 1st, 2009Is there supposed to be tenion here in place of action and dialogue? If there is, epic fail. This trailer is beyond boring.
Posted by Ashley on June 1st, 2009The trailer keeps freezing at the part where Taylor’s bare chest is showing. But other than that, this movie and the books are made for teenagers. Critics shouldn’t waste their time criticizing an obviously pop culture film. Yes it barely has substance but in this culture of hot bods it exceeds. Allow me to enjoy my eye candy. Thanks!
Pet peeve of mine: Someone calling someone or something retarded but spelling it like a retard. The word is spelled “retarded” not “retarted”. What, is it made tart again?
Posted by Movie Queen on June 1st, 2009One of the worst trailers I’ve ever seen.
Posted by Raph on June 1st, 2009I slept through the first Twilight. After, agreeing to watch it with the wife. I guess if your into non threating vampires. Its your thing. But, I would say it’s worse than Crow 2. Now, that the next one is coming. Let’s compare to Crow 3. yuck!!!
Posted by Hugo Van Nor on June 1st, 2009This looks bad beyond comprehension.
Posted by Steven C. on June 1st, 2009Is this the quickest sequel turnaround?
Posted by Rick P. on June 1st, 2009This really doesn’t look good. It just smells of preteen angst and hot topic.
Posted by Paul on June 1st, 2009Sorry for my miss-spelling queen. Over time I hope you will forgive me. But with regards to your blog, you’re the exact type who actually enjoys this series. An immature sexually frustrated female hoping to find a perfect man to satisfy her unrealistic goals and desires. And if indeed, you do have a man, I feel sorry for him because he is with someone who blasts someone else over their opinion and their miss-spelling of a word. No matter how retarded or retarted it may seem.
Posted by Rick on June 1st, 2009So….he just leaves her in the woods?
Posted by Glendon on June 1st, 2009I’ve never read any of the books ad haven’t seen the movie. Bu come on, it dosen’t look THAT bad, I think you guys are being overly negative because it’s hip to hate on twilight.
Posted by Drew on June 1st, 2009Rick… WOW!!! It is not just the misspellings. You are twisted. You say that the movie is not your thing, so be it, do not watch it (like the millions around the world will, including me and my children). I have read all four books… out loud… to my boys. Neither my children nor I am ’sexually frustrated’. I do not have an unrealistic ideal of men; but I do have concerns of who dates you. It certainly will not be a self-sufficient and endearing young lady, and that fact will leave you quite bored and lonely.
P.S. Do not see the movie just to do what others do. That is stupid. I do have a piece of advice, read the books, they are fun and entrancing. It is thrilling to see a story come to life. I for one cannot wait to see it unfold before my eyes. Oh, btw, do not pick on girls (even in cyber world) it makes you look terrible.
Posted by shawna on June 2nd, 2009when i first heard of the movie in theatres i paid no attention. I hadnt even heard of the books. But when it came out on dvd i thought ok, ill give it a try. The movie left alot of unasnwered questions so i started reading the book. Now i am hooked and have read all the books. I do not think the film does the book any justice~!! I totally get the new trailer because i know what happens. Stepenie Meyer is a good writer and has quite the imagination. I think it is either the screenplay writers fault or the director for the first film/

Lol, you’re just as funny as queen.
First off, you are not those things I said. But you do read the books. Why? Because you represent a very small demographic of what and whom those books are targeted too. Where you are an adult, have kids, and I assume a wonderful marriage, and I congratulate the richness of your life you are not the market area for twilight. And I think there is no denying this which is young teen age girls. I’ve talked to many people (mostly girls) who have read the books and I hear the same banter. “Edward is a perfect man in a world where a perfect man does not exist. He’s the bad boy everyone wants but can’t have. Jacob is so nice we feel so bad for him. It’s written from a girls point of you, and so many girls think like that and we don’t often find that in a book” etc…….
If going to the movie girls will out number boys 5 to 1. It’s a romance novel; of course girls are going to like it more then men. They knew that when marketing it. And I think it’s great YOU read to your boys. YOU read to them. Now did they pick out the lovey dovey book, or did you choose it for them. Now I don’t know how old your sons are but I’m guessing if they were older they would tell you to put it down and read something that the plot consists more of then simply staring into each others eyes. Now when I said that quote “you are the exact type of ……” I was speaking generally as to where the target audience is concerned. Now you are not the target, you are the exception. I’m sorry if you think that all statements about women (same with men) concern every single woman out there. I did not mean to appear sexist.
but i also love movies, love the story or not, so I will go see the pop phenomenon, so like I said, give a unbiased argument, and know what people are talking about for the rest of the year.
And as far as my fiancée is concerned. She agrees with me and refuses to read the book, so according to you, me and my family will grow old and alone together, which I couldn’t ask for more
Posted by Rick on June 2nd, 2009Telling some girls that Twilight sucks is worse than telling them they’re fat and will never have children.
Worse than telling a middle aged woman that Anne Geddes is not a real artist.
Posted by Goon on June 2nd, 2009I just finished watching the first movie last night, it took me 2 attempts to get through it because it was too unbearable to finish in one sitting. But curiosity gave in and I managed to see it all.
And i don’t even want to think about the baseball scene. Seriously…..seriously??
Passing this tripe off as being “just for teen girls” is DEEPLY offensive to teen girls (and teen girls are a demographic I normally refer to as a virus). All “eye-candy” fluff like this devalues culture. It’s purely a waste. There are wonderful, deep, and rich films + books made for young people and children. Being for a younger audience is no excuse for making crap, and this is just plain old crap.
Posted by manicpanda on June 2nd, 2009I guess an issue I have over the movies is that such a great deal of Twilight fans admit it wasnt that great, but it seems they find themselves obligated to support them and vote for them for awards and buy the DVDs anyways. So they can get the other movies? What is it? Is it an Oprah cultish thing?
Posted by Goon on June 2nd, 2009Why are haters of Twilight watching a New Moon trailer then commenting on it trying to say it’s rubbish blah blah blah , coz you know what the fans are not gunna listen to what you spout. You either love it or hate it and if you love it then who are you to try and comment on a bloody website to say it’s crap and only for teenage girls. maybe next time don’t a trailer if you have that much hatred for it!
Posted by Aine on June 3rd, 2009notice all the people insulting me, are women
Posted by Rick on June 3rd, 2009What’s with the hate? OK to say it’s not your thing but I’m going with Drew here – it’s not *that* bad (though I’m not digging, not one bit, the wolf effects). I guess maybe you *do* have to be a fan to get excited for this because the trailer (outside of the last few seconds) was good.
Posted by Marina on June 3rd, 2009Is Jacob supposed to be a werewolf? The ‘werewolf’ looks like a cute angry mutt! I thought graphics and special FX will be better compared to their last movie =(
Posted by Ice on June 3rd, 2009I’m very disappointed…
“Why are haters of Twilight watching a New Moon trailer then commenting on it trying to say it’s rubbish blah blah blah”
Probably the same reason Britney Spears haters will probably still watch her music video once – to stay in the pop culture loop? (or maybe to beat off)
Posted by Goon on June 3rd, 2009OMG!! i really want to c the movie now! I CANT WAIT!!!! lol ya anyway wow jacob is sooo hot! ya tand the graphic effects r really good! but bella isnt supposed to find out about him bein a werewolf til’ later!!!! ugh, QUIT CHANGING WAT IS SUPPOSE TO HAPPEN THEY DID THIS ON TWILIGHT TO
Posted by ariel on June 4th, 2009lol.
i like how the whole controversy of the book. i think if you like the type of movie then watch it. if you dont like then dont watch it. i dont think anyone is gonna make you watch it. stop being such a baby and get over it. why are you getting in an arguement that really doesnt even need to happen. its just an opinion. they have a right to their opinion. dont make them change their mind just because you dont like it. its immature. seriously. so yeah thats my take on all those messages.
other than that i love twilight and im soooo excited for new moon. =]]
Posted by amanda on June 4th, 2009The books are so much better than the movies (still hoping that new moon will be better than twilight). I can’t wait to see it. These books are so amazing. It is not the because he’s a vampire and she’s a human. It’s because it is such a impossible love story, the conflict they face over and over again, and the forces that keep trying to pull them apart. That’s what attracts people to these books and movies. So for those people who hate twilight, try reading the books before you start judging.
Posted by N on June 9th, 2009I loved twilight and will love this one i don;t think the trailer makes the film look good but i do think it will be great. Have to agree with some comments on here if ya don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all if your opinion is this saga is rubbish then fair do’s but i think its going to be great.
xx
Posted by danielle on June 15th, 2009man ya i think its going to be great too even tho i know the books were better than the movie, thats something i dont understand why not make the movie like the book its extremely dissapointing when you fall in love with a book and then the movies not up to expectations.but everyone quit hating..for real let the young kids have their fantasy and have something constructive to look forward too. i mean maybe instead of bieng out in the streets their reading these books.i think its good for our youth.only thing i can say tho is that i love the way this book has passion with minimal sexual dialect.thats what makes these books good.
Posted by jessica on June 16th, 2009well Okay, How about the truckies, they hated the new star track movie. I think they did a great job on it and I hate that show. The thing is with this movie is people made it seem that it was made for teens, the books were made for readers. But because the teen fad made the movie popular everyone assumes it is just for teens. Cmon people does it really matter to you who likes the movies? and if yes why? I liked it, I am not a teen, or sexually frustrated or whatever he said. I just think its a nice twist to Romeo and Juliet story. And don’t make fun of the “werewolf” if you read the books you would know those quotations mean something. Or maybe the women of this day of age long for romance, long for people that will care for them 100% no matter what, they will throw themselves into books. Maybe the books involve the reader, so when they watch the movie it does not matter it sucks and the female that plays Bella cannot act and looks like she is going to throw up. I personally liked the idea of the vampire, it does not fallow the same played story of vampires that other people wrote, but because there is not hate or blood, men and a lot of women hate it….. Get over it let people like what they like, its okay that everyone is not the same, I think you will get over it. Personally I hated Terminator4 more then Twilight. Try to argue that…….
Posted by Yup. on June 16th, 2009I realize there should of been more ,but for once there is a movie or movies for young women or even women to believe that maybe there are men out there that are exciting and old fashion and that there can be a love so strong. most movies today have so much swearing , skin, garbage so to speak . I watched true blood funny in some parts , and exciting in other , but again you need to screen ,for kids. Then we wonder why kids don,t know how to relate in relationships and grow up screwed up and have failed marriages”"”"”"”"Why do you think they swear so much . I love the books and the movie and waiting for new moon, yes it would of been nice to have it beefed up a bit. come on romantics ,I know your out there maybe that is what we need . instead of movies that show we need to get down and dirty right away instead of learning how to really love someone ,thats why he left.
Posted by restlesstyle on June 16th, 2009Hello to all lovers and haters of this Saga. I’m excited about the next movie and can’t wait for it to come out….way to long if you ask me. I watched the first movie, which I did enjoy, so I bought all the books and have read them twice. Yes, I admit I’m a fan of this. My main reason for this addiction has to do with the books. Don’t get me wrong, Rob is great as Edward, but the Edward in the book is so much more! People like me are addicts simply because we all have our own “Edward love thing / soulmate” that we’re looking for, but never truly do find it. Trust me, married and still don’t think that I’ll ever find or see that brillant spark between two people that you read in the book. Of course the book has more details and I suggest reading it. It makes the movies unsettling when they leave out details, but how often to book fans get to see the book become a MOVIE!!! It is for the teens, which I’m 26, but who cares! All women look for something that strong to hold them. Plus we’re good at dreaming!!!
Posted by Jessica on June 19th, 2009hahahaha
I love haters. You guys seriously have no life if you feel the need to watch trailers that you know you don’t even like just so you can hate on it… like really. If you don’t like something then don’t set yourself up to get in contact with it… seriously.
and honestly. I love the books before it became this big thing. and as a twilight fan, i agree that the movie really sucked. They didn’t take that much out of the book and didnt capture what made the book so good. but i don’t get why you guys hate this new moon trailer so much… i think it looks better then twilight so i’m slightly… actually pretty exciting.
Posted by Sheba on June 20th, 2009AS SAID ON THE DAMB MTV MOVIE AWARDS THAT YOU DUMB FUCKING MORONS FAILED TO ACKOWLEDGE BECAUSE YOU WERE TO BUSY TALKING SHIT ABOUT A BOOK AND A MOVIE THAT MOST HATERS HAVE FAILED TO READ EVEN TAKE THE TIME TO WATCH BECAUSE YOU PEOPLE KNOW THAT ONCE YOU READ THE BOOKS THAT IT WILL CHANGE YOUR WHOLE PERSPECTIVE ON THE SUBJECT AT MATTER WAS THAT IT IS NOT AN OFFICIAL TRAILOR YES THAT IS WHY IT IS NOT ON TV BECAUSE IT IS A TEASER OF SCENES FROM THE MOVIE AND THEY ARE NOT EVEN CLOSE TO BEING FINISHED. NOTICE BELLA’S SHIRT IS NOT THE SAME COLOR WHEN THE WOLF COMES OUT AS TO WHEN SHES STANDING IN THE CLEARING. YEAH GOT YOU THERE HUH? LOL YOU GUYS ARE SO BUSY TRYING TO ACT COOL AND TOUGH AND ACT LIKE YOUR TOO GOOD TO WATCH A DIFFERENT AND UNIQUE STORY COME TO LIFE. YES TWILIGHT WAS NOT AS GREAT AS THE BOOK WAS BECAUSE A FINACIAL ISSUE BUT AS DREW CLEARY STATED IT WASNT THAT BAD. YOU PEOPLE WITH NO IMPORTANCE IN THE WORLD WANT TO BE “DIFFERENT”. BUT DEEP DOWN INSIDE YOU WILL ALWAYS KNOW THE TRUTH: YOU LOVE TWILIGHT. YOU JUST THINK THAT YOU’LL BE “COOL” IF YOU BASH A MOVIE THAT MADE MORE MONEY THEN YOU WILL EVER IN YOU LIFE TIME EVEN FATHOM. SO EVEN THOUGH THERE WILL ALWAYS BE 1/3 OF THE POPULATION THAT WILL HATE TWILIGHT BUT THAT 2/3 ALL LOVE TWILIGHT. SO IF IT MEANS UNIVERSAL WAR OVER WHOSE OPINION IS STRONGER PLEASE DO TAKE A GUESS OF WHAT SIDE OF THE POPULATION WOULD WIN FAT HEADED LOSERS WHO THINK THEY HAVE A BETTER CHANCE OF MAKING A BETTER BOOK/MOVIE OF DOWN TO EARTH SMART PEOPLE WHO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THE HUMAN RACE IS FAR FROM BEING PERFECT BUT TWILIGHT IS CLOSE TO IT. GO AHEAD GUESS IF YOU GUESSED FAT HEADED LOSERS YOU GUESSED WRONG.
P.S DREW YOU ARE THE ONLY MALE HERE THAT HAS A BRAIN. :p
