Predator Reboot/Sequel Gets a Writer
Things are continuing to move rather quickly on Robert Rodriguez’s previously announced Predator reboot, tentatively titled Predators, which is now on the fast track over at 20th Century Fox. Although the movie was believed to be based on an old script that Rodriguez wrote back in the ’90s, they have gone ahead and hired a new writer for the project anyway. According to Bloody Disgusting, that writer is Alex Litvak, whose only writing credit to date is the upcoming New Regency film Medieval. It has been described as “The Dirty Dozen in the age of castles, plagues and serfs”, and McG was rumoured to be interested in directing.
One other interesting credit that Litvak has on his resume is that he was a co-producer for The Hunting Party, the Richard Gere film about a journalist and camera crew trying to track down a Bosnian war criminal. Basically he seems to have experience with movies about teams that are on the hunt in one way or another… but that’s about all we know. We don’t even know if he’ll be writing the script from scratch or not. Either way, I think we’re all a lot more interested to hear who might be directing since Rodriguez has been confirmed as a producer only. My vote is for Stallone!

Posted by 1138 on May 5th, 2009Can’t Rodriguez think of something original? I hope this does not blow since the sequel of Predator sucked and the AVP series is a wasted of digital celluloid. Predator deserves a good sequel.
I figured Rodriguez wouldn’t be directing since he withdrew himself from the DGA during Sin City for creative differences. That officially made him blacklisted from directing any big studio films. I don’t know if he came back though.

However, we have to do something about these fucking remakes.I don’t mind a good remake, but Hollywood has become “REMAKE HEAVY.” We need some originality.Please forward the following definitions to Hollywood execs. Originality: 1.The quality of being original. 2.The capacity to act or think independently. 3.Something original. Viva la revolución!
Posted by Matt C on May 7th, 2009Predator BEATS Aliens any day. These “Predators” actually come from a civilized setting in which I’m interested in. The “Aliens” are nothing more than over sized insects that just swarm and populated….like ants or cockroaches.
