G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra French Trailer
A new trailer for the upcoming G.I. Joe movie has hit the web this week, and although the French subtitles technically make it an “international trailer”, I think it only proves that this movie is going to be a pretty tough sell overseas. Heck, it’ll probably be a tough sell here in North America too. The new footage shows off some lame shots of the Eiffel Tower getting vaporized by a Cobra missile, followed by the G.I. Joe team suiting up and heading into action.
Based on the final slow-mo money shot, it’s pretty obvious that they are trying desperately to ape Michael Bay’s Transformers, and if you ask me it’s a bone-headed strategy because G.I. Joe and Transformers are two completely different beasts. They even went so far as to give all the G.I. Joe team members armored suits that allow them to jump around like robots. This is one movie where I don’t want to see action scenes that are 95% CG. I almost forgot that Channing Tatum was in this, but after seeing this trailer I am reminded of how dull he was in Fighting. Ugh. I don’t think I’m alone in saying that the only thing that look remotely interesting is the showdown between Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow. What did you think? G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra hits theatres on August 7th.

Posted by Henrik on April 30th, 2009This looks horrible. It will make money somehow. But, it really looks horrible. The CG even makes it worse. How can there be any excitement to see this. Save time by sh&$ting in a bucket. Setting it in your living room for an hour and half. That will sum up the movie. No money spent on a ticket and saves on gas.
