Toronto Over The Top Fest Announces 2009 Film Line-Up: Visioneers, Severed Ways, Tokyo! and More

Over The Top Fest has been one of Toronto’s coolest and most adventurous indie music festivals for the past 7 years now, and a couple years back they decided to introduce a film festival program as well. They have previously screened such cult favourites as Crispin Glover’s What Is It? and The Machine Girl, but their 2009 line-up is definitely the strongest one yet.
Between Thurs. May 21st and Sat. May 23rd, the following films will screen at OTTF, many of them making their Canadian premiere:
- PVC-1 (Dir: Spiros Stathoulopoulos)
- Severed Ways: The Norse Discovery of America (Dir: Tony Stone)
- Tokyo! (Dir: Michel Gondry, Léos Carax, and Bong Joon-ho)
- Visioneers (Dir: Jared Drake)
- White Lightnin’ (Dir: Dominic Murphy)
There will also be a short film program including two directed by Chad VanGaalen. For schedule and ticket information, check out the official website, linked below.

Cool… I’m checking out Tokyo! around here this weekend. It’s starting to make it’s rounds to the art theaters.
