HAAAAHAHAHAHA.
“Best Worst Movie”? What are the fucking odds, man…
Posted by Falsk on April 27th, 2009Yes, I think we answered your junk mail question with this review.
Posted by Sean on April 27th, 2009And I’m typing it out on Sunday thinking, “God, I’m such a loser. No one’s EVER heard of Troll 2 before…”
Wonderful.
Posted by Falsk on April 27th, 2009Could you check the itunes feed. It is currently down!

Posted by AdamH on April 28th, 2009I will look forward to Laughology and wonder if it changed the way Jay looks at himself
Posted by Goon on April 28th, 2009Hey,

RSS feeds should be fixed now I think. Sorry about that.
Posted by Sean on April 28th, 2009DVD release to add for this week – the first two volumes of the XMen 90s tv show just came out, picked em up already. I normally ignore most retro cartoon shows on dvd – they usually are never as good as you remember, but i had to grab these ones.
Posted by Goon on April 28th, 2009Yeah I think I’m going to grab these as well.
Posted by Sean on April 28th, 2009Speaking of theaters in Niagara with problems, has anyone noticed that the speakers at Niagara Square are far too low? The audio is a vital part of the movie-going experience and when I occasionally catch a movie at Niagara Square I immediately regret the decision when I find I can’t immerse myself in the film.
Posted by Nuno on April 28th, 2009I hadn’t noticed that but I haven’t been there in a while. There always seems to be more people talking and being annoying at Niagara Square too.
Posted by Sean on April 28th, 2009Hey Guys, Just donated some dough through the Paypal donation link. It isn’t much but you guys deserve it! Keep up the great work!
Posted by Dane on April 28th, 2009Thanks Dane. Every little bit helps.
Posted by Sean on April 28th, 2009I’m relieved to hear that Best Worst Movie doesn’t focus on the Troll 2 fans and I’m a Troll 2 fan! Looking forward to catching it at Hot Docs.
More on the Niagara Square issue; because it’s so easy to talk over the feature’s low audio, IMO, it encourages dumbass kids to do so. When the audio is cranked up like at most theaters, you’re less likely to be distracted and talk during movies. I brought this up with the manager at Niagara Square and he told me that 5 or 6 years ago, someone (I’m guessing some old, crotchety, bastard with influence who rarely goes to the movies), complained about the speakers being too loud so they tuned the volume down from 6 to 4. In my opinion, paying to watch a movie with the volume at 4/10 is criminal and I’d be more inclined to watch movies in my own home than to go to Niagara Square again. Sorry for the Niagara Square rant but it’s something that’s really been pissing me off. Good show, guys.
Posted by Nuno on April 28th, 2009Nuno, i’ve noticed this as well. It’s way too quiet there.
Posted by Jay C. on April 28th, 2009yay!! thanks for reviewing best worst movie. i’m so excited to see it at hot docs this weekend.
Posted by katie on April 28th, 2009“complained about the speakers being too loud so they tuned the volume down from 6 to 4″
I hate those old bastards. They ruin it for everyone. The suggested volume is six and I liked to go up to seven (because movies should be almost too loud). I’d do it for all the big blockbusters but sometimes old motherfuckers would complain.
Greg says the animation in Superman: Doomsday sucks…does he mean the character design? The animation wasn’t great, but it surely didn’t blow.
Posted by Ryan M. on April 29th, 2009I’m with you, Ryan, I don’t mind having my ribcage vibrate occasionally when watching a loud movie.
Also, I thought that the animation in Superman: Doomsday was really good. As far as the straight-to-video superhero movies go, I think the DC releases have all had stellar animation with the exception of Justice League: New Frontier which was pretty lifeless. The Marvel stuff hasn’t even come close.
Posted by Nuno on April 29th, 2009this convinced me jay is in love with himself, this was bad.
