Amazingly there are people out there that think that when movies are released in theater they are automatically released on DVD, I've heard many people inquire about titles just released in theaters in DVD stores. Also, there are, apparently, cheap Brazilian (?) knock-offs to Pixar's movies. My personal favorites being Ratatoing and The Little Cars in the Great Race. I can't help but laugh every time I see them in the video-store. I wonder how many parents (or other tragically un-hip people) rent these movies by accident for their kids (or themselves) thinking they are the "real-thing." What's even stranger is that my local video store will always have at least 5 copies of these stupid knock-off movies... I guess they figure (like the studio that made the films) that they can get a couple of unsuspecting people to cough up cash by accident??? The thing is, the CGI in their films is actually pretty good considering the budget. Sure they only make a handful of shots and reuse them over and over again but they do look good. Choosing instead to release similarly titled films close to another big hollywood production may create confusion and cause some people to rent the wrong movie but it's stupid. Create something original please, you may be surprised at how it fares at the box office or video store.
