Armored Trailer Starring Laurence Fishburne and Matt Dillon

Believe it or not, there are two different armored truck heist movies in development right now, and I had no idea until today. How is this possible? The best part is that they’re both called Armored. I imagine one will eventually have to be renamed, but as of right now, they’re almost exact clones of each other. In both cases the story revolves around armored truck drivers who pull off inside jobs in order to score some serious cash.
The first one out of the gates is from Sony Screen Gems, and it stars Laurence Fishburne, Matt Dillon, Columbus Short, Jean Reno and Skeet Ulrich. Hungarian director Nimród Antal’s previous credits include Vacancy and Kontroll. The other Armored (which probably won’t be out until 2010) stars Eric Bana, and and is directed by F. Gary Gray (The Italian Job, A Man Apart) from a screenplay by David Ayer (The Fast and the Furious, Training Day) and Andrew Kevin Walker (Seven). You got all that? Good. Now here’s the trailer for the first one, which hits theatres on September 18th. Hopefully the second one has bigger trucks. (You can also watch it in HD over at Apple.com.)
