Which Movie Has the Better Pizza Promotion: Wolverine or Terminator Salvation?

Nothing says summer blockbuster quite like a good fast food promotion, and although Happy Meals have always been a pretty reliable marketing tool in the past, this year it seems like Hollywood has a hankerin’ for some ‘za instead. Earlier this week Pizza Hut unveiled a new website for Terminator Salvation where they will be showing off exclusive footage from the movie and running a contest with some sweet prizes including a trip to the Hollywood premiere. On top of that, they will also be giving away a free one-topping medium pizza to anyone named John Connor or Sarah Connor on Thursday, May 21. I’m serious.
Not to be outdone, Papa John’s just launched a promotion of their own this week for X-Men Origins: Wolverine. They’re not giving away any prizes, but instead, they’ve created a new pizza specifically for Logan and his pals: the XL X-treme Cheese Pizza, which comes loaded with nearly a full pound of cheese! Genius. Obviously the folks at Fox are still so busy doing damage control on the leaked workprint that they don’t seem to realize that being associated with “a full pound of cheese” might be a bad thing for Wolverine’s rep. Well, at least Papa John’s didn’t give away the movie’s top secret (read: not in the least bit shocking) PG-13 rating. What do you think, which pizza promotion offers the best value in the current economic climate? Is one less embarrassing than the other?

How could you forget that Batman Dominos promo!
Posted by Dugen on April 9th, 2009The Pizza Hut offer is way better. Papa John’s tastes better but cheese pizza is lame and Kevin McCallister should learn how to deal with that.
Wolverine would never eat cheese pizza.
Posted by Ryan M. on April 10th, 2009The amount of cheese that people seem to put on food in America already nauseates me, a full pound of cheese (which I later found out to be around 500g) on a single pizza base had me reaching for the bucket.
