Glad to see The Changeling and The Innocents on the list. The Others was pretty good too. But why isn’t Burnt Offerings on here? That is a forgotten gem and better than some of the others on here.

I am glad to see that The Orphanage ranked so high on the list with it being the more recent other than a couple of the other entries. I think that The Orphanage redefined the genre and opened the doors to the likes of The Changeling or any that we will see from here on out.

@ reed – you could be right even “Plan 9″ s a classic now.

@ topic – What about Fulcis “The Beyond” (this house is definatly haunted), “The spiral staircase” or “Hush, Hush sweet Charlotte”? Okay the last two are only seemingly haunted houses, but at least they are scary.

The Shining, like Blade Runner, is one of those movies that was universally panned by film critics when it was released, but was adored by young people with a limited frame of reference and limited critical faculties. Mark my words. Twenty years from now, Transformers will be considered a classic.
