First Photos of Nic Cage and Jay Baruchel in The Sorcerer’s Apprentice
You know, I had read the news headlines about Nicolas Cage and Jay Baruchel starring in a live action remake of The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, but up until now, it hadn’t really sunk in. The movie is loosely based on the segment from Disney’s Fantasia, but they’re modernizing it and turning it into a family adventure film. Oh, and did I mention that it’s being directed by Jon Turteltaub (National Treasure) and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer?
This week some early photos from the set of The Sorcerer’s Apprentice have leaked online, and thanks to Just Jared we’ve got our first look at Nic Cage in his swanky sorcerer outfit. One word comes to mind: hilarious. I can’t wait to see what Alfred Molina’s evil magician character will look like. In all seriousness though, you can make fun of Nicolas Cage all you want, but if the past has taught us anything it is that America loves his movies. National Treasure + Harry Potter = $$$. Posted by Me on March 27th, 2009I can’t fucking wait for this movie, I think it’s going to be amazing. Even though National Treasure wasn’t very good, hopefully they can come up with some awesome magic shit, and some ridiculous incantations for Cage and Molina.
