Pauly Shore’s Adopted Trailer

Despite rumours and threats to the contrary, Pauly Shore is not dead. If you can believe it, he actually has a new movie coming out this year, and at this point it’s pretty clear that he really doesn’t care what anyone thinks of him. While it’s highly unlikely that this won’t be a disaster, there is a small part of me that wants to applaud him for having the balls to do this… kind of like the first time I saw the comedic brilliance that is Encino Man.
Shore’s new movie is called Adopted, and it is a mockumentary-style comedy about him adopting a child from Africa. In theory, it’s a premise that could have potential: let’s face it, most celebrity adoptions are pretty ridiculous. The problem is that, as you can see in the trailer, Pauly Shore has absolutely no tact or cleverness in how he goes about doing it. The HIV joke alone is sure to turn 99% of viewers off, and he’s certainly not going to make any friends in Hollywood with this flick. I would give this a chance, except that I already gave him a chance to prove himself again with his comeback film Pauly Shore is Dead, and it just made me want to gouge my eyes out. So yeah… maybe there’s someone out there interested in this. But probably not. For more info on screenings and a release date for this direct-to-video venture, check out the official website or follow Pauly Shore on Twitter!

FIRST! Oh yeah.
This movie looks so bad I didn’t even bother reading your review.
Posted by Shut-Up Ed on March 23rd, 2009It even looked so bad that you didn’t even realize that it wasn’t a review you plum preserve.
The trailer actually looked decent. I chuckled a few times.

Posted by rus in chicago on March 24th, 2009I guess I’m the only one, but this looks entertaining to me. It looks to me like he is making fun of Western do-gooders/celebrities. It sounds like something South Park has done several times, but I like the documentary style that this has. I’m probably wrong though.
Posted by heapshake on March 25th, 2009I’m embarresed to admit it but I don’t think this looks very bad,

Posted by Chris on May 27th, 2009Liked it… although Cohen is going for the out there jokes… this one actually seems as Pauly is kind of being serious. No character just him, and he said a few lines and appeared genuwine. Bonding with the kid over Blue Balls, priceless cute and funny.

Posted by Elisha on March 2nd, 2010I don’t know why everyone’s judging so harshly. If you guys watch the movie, you might be surprised at how funny and warm it really is. See it if you get the chance.
Posted by Joey on June 15th, 2010When I think of mockumentaries, the names that usually come to mind are Christopher Guest and Sacha Baron Cohen, and it seems like Pauly Shore is now right alongside them.
‘Adopted’ is a very tongue-In-cheek commentary on the topic of celebrities adopting impoverished children in Africa, and it’s pretty funny! If you’re looking for another comedy to add to your collection, this one is definitely worth checking out.
