Ok, I gotta stop listening to this show while on the bus because I forget all the shit I want to say when I finally get to a computer...

BLINDNESS: so glad you liked this one Jay. I think it's one of the best movies of 2008 for all of the reasons you mentioned. It's way deeper than anything I imagined it would be and the minutiae and moral dilemmas the film brings about is fantastic. I seriously thought Kurt and I were the only ones on the planet who saw the greatness of this movie. It's dark, it's interesting, it's well acted and directed. It's also original. People always scream that nothing new, original and dark ever comes out of Hollywood. Well, here it is; it's great, and everyone complains. It doesn't fit into their comfort level so it isn't good.

KNOWING: I agree that are so many moments of wtf in here and some pretty shitty acting from time to time. But the overall idea and where the story takes us makes up for all of that. I was really surprised at the moments when this movie works... it *really* works. This is the movie that M. Night Shyamalan wishes he could make.

I am going to have to see Taken. Man what sustaining power! It's been in the top ten for like a zillion years!

And yeah I am surprised that Knowing took the top spot. I would think in this environment comedy would rule the day. But 'I love You.." still did really well!

I'm really surprized to see Knowing ahead of I Love You, Man although last Thurs/Fri the spin of Knowing went quickly from "Geez, isn't that out yet" to "Hey - this was pretty good" on most fronts.

Taken is freaking me out. Imagine if it's the highest grossing for the first quarter of the year. Wow.
