Whitaker No Longer Expendable; 50 Cent Steps In

I’ve been accused of being overly negative concerning the casting of Sylvester Stallone’s The Expendables, and for that reason I’ve decided to take this opportunity to showcase my optimism for the project. Word has it that Forest Whitaker has had to pull out of The Expendables, citing scheduling conflicts. The good news is that the Academy Award winning actor will be replaced by the equally talented rapper 50 Cent, who has agreed to postpone the search for his skull to take the role.
The addition of Stone Cold Steve Austin to the roster was seen as a way to get some free promotion out of the WWE, and this move may be a similar ploy to tap into Fiddy’s enormous fan base. If so, Stallone is really covering all his bases. How does this latest change in the ever-shifting landscape of The Expendables affect your interest? Is Stallone right when he states “If a man can communicate in one medium, he can communicate in another?” And do you consider the departure of Whitaker a good thing, or will the inclusion of 50 Cent make this an unparalleled masterpiece?

…aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
Whatever, I doubt the role is exactly Shakespearian, and 50 Cent I can certianly believe in the image of 50 Cent shooting stuff.
Posted by TheMovieVampire on March 21st, 2009Whitaker is good, I like a few of his movies. It won’t kill the movie, 50 will do well I think. Enough will be going on with the other characters to carry on well. I think most people will come to see, Stallone, Statham, Schwarzenegger, Li, Lundgren…
Posted by dave453 on March 21st, 2009As a fan of whitaker it kind of sucks but on the other hand.. if this movie is what I think it is, it probably doesnt matter much

How can Stallone be recasting the same character from Whitaker to 50 Cent? They don’t even look alike let alone act alike. I mean they are two totally different physical specimens!
All I can say is Stallone must be doing some major rewrites. It’s to bad Whitaker couldn’t stay with the project. Have always been a fan since I’ve seen him in “Good Morning Vietnam”.

Posted by Bob The Slob on March 21st, 2009I don’t really think much of 50 cent (except for the fact that he seems to be a legend of his own mind and seems overly in love with himself. It sucks that Whitaker won’t be in it, cause I’m a bit of a fan of the Forest; and I think that takes away a bit of the
Posted by Derek on March 21st, 2009(DAMN, HE’S IN THIS MOVIE TOO?)feel. I mean it’s sweet that all these action stars are gonna be in it; especially the one’s that I haven’t seen in a while on the big screen; but having an award winning actor like
Whitaker being in a movie like this just gave me the thought that this must be a really good flick, Sly’s cooking up. I’m still down for seein this movie though; after watching Rambo, I’ll see any of the films he’ll direct.
Why not Mr. T?!

TERRY CREWS!
Posted by Glendon on March 22nd, 2009Forrest Whitaker couldn’t beat Forrest Gump in a fist fight. At least Fifty (who sucks donkey balls) could probably kick somebody’s ass… Obviously Whitaker is a far superior actor (can we even call fifty an actor?).
Having fifty in the film probably won’t totally kill it but it will def. draw me out. Here you have all these aging action legends, and then all of a sudden, “oh, look over there, the token young, angry black guy! Yay!”
