The Lost Boys 3 Moving Forward with Corey Feldman

I still have yet to see The Lost Boys: The Tribe, the 20-years-too-late direct-to-DVD sequel to Joel Schumacher’s 1987 cult classic, and based on all the dismal reviews that I’ve heard and read, I am certainly in no hurry. Still, it appears that the movie was at least somewhat successful since it’s being reported around the web that Warner Premiere is currently in the process of developing a third installment. They have hired a guy named Evan Charnov (Fearless) to start writing a script for The Lost Boys 3, which will focus specifically on Corey Feldman’s character Edgar Frog.

As you would expect, Feldman is signed to star, but this time around he will apparently also act as executive producer. Good to hear that the Feldog is moving up in the world. Jamison Newlander is also supposedly attached to reprise his role as the other half of the Frog Brothers, Alan (IMDB says that he was in The Lost Boys: The Tribe as well, but his scenes were cut… can anyone confirm or deny this?). Unfortunately, the odds of Corey Haim returning are looking very slim indeed. What do you think, is a third Lost Boys movie a good idea? Will it be better or worse than The Tribe?

  1. The Frog Brothers are fun characters and Feldman was good in The Tribe. The film for DVD was watchable mostly for Feldman. Thats it though! Other than quick profits for studios I don’t really understand direct to DVD movies.

    chuck

  2. yeah, feldman was hilarious in the sequel, the rest of it was useless.

  3. If they’re going to do this, Why not just make a Frog Bros. movie? This is lame.

  4. the lost boys, the original, is my all time fav flick and when i saw the sequel last year is was a huge piece of shit. there was not one good thing about the second installment, which makes a third one heading to the shitter. i couldnt get through the second one, i had to turn it off after a half hour, the acting sucked and the story blew. so please feldman dont bury the lost boys with a third movie.

  5. I don’t remember precisely what the differences were between the regular ending and the alternate ending, but I do know one of them showed Newlander, who was now a vampire, driving in a car with its windows blacked out hunting down Haim, who was asking Feldman for protection. It was probably the best part of the entire movie.

  6. The Lost Boys (the original, that is) is my All-Time Favorite Movie! Everything about that movie is perfect, from the cast to the story, I can’t say enough about the 1987 classic…The sequel, (I must admit, I was so excited to finally see it after all these years) was a total and utter disappointment. It could’ve been named any other movie and been ok, but the fact that the producers ruined The Lost Boys name was too much. And Corey Feldman is such a sellout! He’s so desperate for money from his damaged career that he needs to partake in this? I don’t get it, does he not have any dignity left to keep the integrity of the characters from the 1987 classic intact?

  7. i dont know why everybody is being self centered little cry babies about the sequel to the lost boys. yes i’ll admit that it wasnt as good as the orginal lost boys but people! for crying out load! take your critism and jamm it back down that giant hole in the middle of your face! those people worked long hard hours to give you selfish little cry babies what you wanted! did they have to do it? no. they didnt have to take time out of their life to entertain self centered little brats. the cast for the movie was great, the acting was great, but… the story line was weak. thats the only down fall. but they are taking a third try to make the lost boys name known again, if you people are going to just fuck around and be pathetic little kids and talk about how something wasnt perfect then, keep it to yourself people who actually thought the movie was good enough dont feel like hearing your whiney complaints. while you people are sitting up there on your high horse with your damb noses held in the air people who actually are attached to the planet earth are down here trying to revive the name the lost boys and make another movie to the original cult classic that is over 20 years old. i would like to see you people try and make a movie about another that is over 20 years old.its not easy. one word advise get your fucking heads out of the clouds, because wether you want to acknowledge it or not but we are human and we are far from being perfect.

p.s publisher i recomend that you see the movie before you judge. and if you dont like it reread my message.

  8. I say dont make it or name it something else. I agree with everyone else about the the second movie. it was crap.it should have been named some thing else.
if they going make a movie about the frog brothers- name it the frog brothers.

  9. I agree with the prevailing sentiment in the above comments that if the next movie is centered around the Frog brothers that call it something else. If you really want to do a Lost Boys ‘3′ do it the right way. Attempt to get Joel Schumacher involved in the concept with an up-to-date modern spin while still preserving some pillars of the ‘87 original. Attempt to bring in at least some of the original cast. If (big IF) Haim (Sam) could ever get his shit together he could be the central figure in a new movie where the “vamps” approach him. “Michael”, Jason Patric’s role could be as a big brother whose been through these “vamp” trials years before and he wants to rectify the situation for Sam. The “Frog” brothers have grown up and went into a private detective business together. They are brought into the movie by “Lucy” who is seeking help for her son Sam. Something to this effect would be a good start with necessary amendments.

  10. ya it would be great if they make a lost boys 3 only if joel schumacher makes the movie and that all the acteurs are in it!

  11. I loved Lost Boys the Tribe and believe that it is much better than the original. The plot is a much better fit and Angus Sutherland is very sexy. It’s to bad they can’t reserect him for a third movie.

  12. I swallowed my gum after reading your post bubbles. I’m all understanding that everyone has their own opinions and whatnot. But seriously? You think the second one is better than the original? Does it have anything to do with the nudity that occurs in the second one? Please tell me it’s the nudity that makes it better for you.

  13. WOO! I CAN’T WAITE FOR LOST BOYS 3 THE THIRST! I CAN’T WAITE TO SEE THE VAMPIRES! WHEN WILL PICTURES OF THEM BE ON GOOGLE? HURRY, HURRY, HURRY, HURRY! I WANT TO SEE THE VAMPIRES! I CAN’T WAITE FOR NEXT YEAR! THANK YOU COREY FELDMAN!!!!!!!! WOO!

  14. I find it funny how people will trash Corey Haim and Corey Feldman and their recent work so easily. Those two were BIG back in the 80’s and made a name for themselves. I admit, the sequel was nothing compared to the orignal (the most quotable line I can think of from the sequel is “Your sisters a suck monkey”) but I’m excitedto see what the third will be like. The thing about the sequel is that if it was called The Lost Boys: The Tribe, no one would have known that it had any relation to the orignal. I mean, Corey Haims role came AFTER the final credits!! I agree, the sequel did come late (okay, I was born 9 years after the first one came out, but…) and Corey Haim has said so himself but what cha gonna do? Regardless of how you feel about the sequels, the orignal is a cult classic and that will never change.

  15. I meant to say, The thing about the sequel is that if it wasn’t called The Lost Boys: The Tribe. no one would know it had any relation to the orignal.
