Mickey Rourke and Scarlett Johannson Confirmed for Iron Man 2
Looks like that dream cast for Iron Man 2 is finally coming together. Mickey Rourke didn’t win the Oscar, but his stock still went up as a result of The Wrestler, and Marvel has reportedly signed him to star as the Russian villain Whiplash for a “significant” amount. Nikke Finke also reports at Deadline Hollywood Daily that Rourke was being considered as a villain for Spider-Man 4 as well, which may have given him some leverage in negotiations.
Scarlett Johannson has also reportedly been locked in as Black Widow, replacing the previously rumoured Emily Blunt. Johannson’s deal is not as generous as Rourke’s however; Finke says that Marvel lowballed her and forced her to sign for a bunch of sequels and spin-offs including The Avengers.

I don’t know anything about the character Rourke will play, but I can tell you two huge reasons why Scarlett is perfect to play the Black Widow.

Are you fucking serious? If she or her agent didn’t think the money was good or they didn’t want to do the sequels…she wouldn’t have signed on. She doesn’t need to take anything that comes her way. She’s in that A list where I think she can pick and choose what she wants. Clearly, she wanted to do this and seems to love the fanboy attention. The Spirit and then this amazon thing and now 4 or 5 movies as the Black Widow??…whoever said she was lowballed and forced to do these movies is a moron.
