Scarlett Johansson Is The Amazon Warrior

Raise your hammers high! Scarlett Johansson has let slip that she’s signed up for The Amazon Warrior. Details are scarce at the moment, but apparently she will be playing a gladiatrix during 200 B.C., a part which will allow here to fulfil her desire to participate in a full-on action role.

This is certainly great news for those of us with a penchant for togas and tridents. As much as I enjoyed 300, I was even more excited by the possibility that its success would usher in a brave new world of heroic fantasy and sword and sandal epics. While this development hasn’t been as rapid as I would like, it does seem as if my dream of oiled pecs, giant serpents and feats of strength is finally coming to fruition. Between The Amazon Warrior, Red Sonja, and a Sword and Sorcerer sequel, I fully expect Italy to reclaim their rich cinematic heritage and produce dozens of entertaining knock-offs any day now. The involvement of Scarlett Johansson simply sweetens the pot. What say you? Does the pairing of the lovely Johansson and brutal gladiatorial combat inflame your loins?

  1. This has been on her IMDB page FOREVER! Can not wait!

  2. Fingers crossed for a Yor: The Hunter From the Future remake if this movie does well I don’t see why not?

  3. My boner exploded and I got cock blood on my couch.

  4. Great combination. Seeing her kick ass with a sword should be sweet.

I found this article through Twitter.

  5. Yes please.
Cock blood is a bitch to get out.

  6. This has been in development for several years (or development hell!) I’d love to see it happen, if just for the completely baffling casting.

  7. Loins aflame!

  8. Well, that’s at least one vote for flaming loins.

Yor, the touch of fire. Yor the proud and free desire. I don’t think anyone alive could do justice to a Yor remake. Reb Brown still around. I wonder if he’d be up for a sequel?

And a word to the wise. Do not tell Nagy news on sword and sandal movies while he’s operating heavy machinery.
