Film Junk Welcomes a New Writer to the Fold

Hey guys, you may have noticed an unfamiliar name doing some posting around these parts over the past few days, so I thought now might be a good time to formally introduce him. We’re excited to have our good friend Wintle joining Film Junk as a regular staff writer, with the main goal of beefing up our daily news coverage, in addition to bringing his own unique views and vast knowledge of film to the site.
Some of you might know him as the former editor of The Horror Blog, while others may remember him as the co-host of the Macho Movie Review Podcast over on The Movie Blog along with Doug Nagy. I’m sure Wintle will add a lot more street cred to the site, not to mention sex appeal, and I am confident that you will all enjoy having him on board. Feel free to welcome him in the comments below!

This is deffinetly a good thing, now you don’t have to have the pressure of posting EVERYTHING Sean! And i’m a big fann of Wintle too, loved the MMR, don’t want to put pressure on anybody but is there a vague possiblity of the MMR coming to Film Junk? I know the pack was never finished!!
Posted by Drew on March 9th, 2009Thanks for the welcome, Sean. I couldn’t have chosen a better picture myself.
I hassle Nagy about a return to the Macho Movie Review (or something like it) once every week, Drew, but he’s like a skittish bird and I don’t want to frighten him by pressing too hard. Between Nagy’s trip to Los Angeles and leaving The Movie Blog, we lost the momentum we had built up. Besides, the three of us live in different cities, so if anything did happen it wouldn’t be a regular thing.
Posted by Wintle on March 9th, 2009WELCOME WINTLE.
Posted by Henrik on March 9th, 2009Who’s this clown?
No I’m kidding of course. Film Junk needs more sex appeal. Good to have you Wintle.
Posted by Neil M on March 9th, 2009Welcome, Wintle! Great to have more writers on the site, although this means even less pressure for Jay & Greg to do some posting of their own… Is Wintle going to be heard on the podcast as well? I’d like to put a voice to the name – of course I could check out the Macho Movie Review Podcast, but that will feel like cheating!
Posted by Bas on March 9th, 2009Welcome aboard Wintle, it’s good to see that now Sean doesn’t have to deal with 100% of the site postings anylonger, which hopefully gives him some more time to come up with new awesome stuff for the podcast or other new stuff.
As Bas mentions, it really would be awesome to hear you on the podcast at some point, do you live near the other guys or further away?
And I see you’re looking forward to Refn’s Bronson, good. All power to the danes!
Posted by Kasper F. Nielsen on March 9th, 2009Thank you, all. I am having a fine time working from Sean’s leftovers. I thought for sure he was going to use the opportunity to take a break here and there, but he still seems to be cranking posts out at an alarming rate.
I do live nearby, but I’m nervous enough posting on someone else’s blog, let alone joining a podcast with a crew as tight as theirs. Baby steps!
Posted by Wintle on March 9th, 2009Yay for the new guy.
Posted by swarez on March 9th, 2009And please pressure some more on joining a semi regular pod cast, that guy is a hoot and half.
That was supposed to be “And please pressure Nagy some more on joining…”
Posted by swarez on March 9th, 2009Steven, I mean Wintle, your knowledge of Asian cinema seems more extensive than mine. Maybe you can post some Killer Import reviews. Or maybe even take it over when I get booed off the stage.
You always seemed so meek when we were working together. Who knew that you were such a fountain of knowledge?
Posted by Reed Farrington on March 10th, 2009Welcome Wintle. Now bring Doug Nagy on board as well and your Voltron robot will be complete.
Posted by Snorfle on March 10th, 2009Reed, I think you’ve got Asia covered just fine. If anything I think I’ll do a little digging and see if I can find something from a different continent.
