A friend of mine was obsessed with Wishmaster after we caught it in the theatres. He spent a few weeks saying "As you wish" in response to practically everything we said. Surprisingly, I never got sick of it.

I should probably revisit eXistenZ sometime. It was one of the only Cronenberg movies that I didn't take to, though I think I was coming at it the wrong way.

And last I heard Romero's latest is called ...Of The Dead, though I don't know if it's a direct sequel to Diary of the Dead or not.

Hey Sean have you seen David Cronenberg's eXistenZ? Its not his best film but it deals with a virtual reality scenario, it stars Jude Law and i think William Dafoe is in it as well. Anyway, i think this is pretty good news. I have been waiting for Romero do try tackle something non-zombie for a long time, hopefully he still has the chops to do it. I haven't seen Diary of The Dead but i have been meaning to catch it eventually. Isn't he still making Diary of The Dead 2??

"Have anybody here seen Wishmaster by the way?"

Yes i have seen the first three! While they are not the best movies, i have a weird soft spot for them, especially the first two. There is that bit in the museum when the statues come to life and start killing people, that other bit when Robert England coughs up his cancerous lungs or some shit like that..those are my fav parts. I haven't seen those flicks in years! i think i might have to hunt them down and give em all a re-watch.
Although i do remember the first one being the only "good" one. the second i think had some moments as well as a cameo by Kane Hodder, and the third one took place in a casino with weird midgets and old people puking and shitting out gold coins!

Is Brainscan the one with Edward Furlong and the weird horrorman? Where his life goes to shit? I saw that on VHS as a youngster.

Have anybody here seen Wishmaster by the way? It's about a woman who finds a genie, but the genie is an evil one and fulfills wishes in horrific fashion etc. He haunts her for some reason she can't get rid of him, and has to try and figure out some way to get rid of him. Horrible movie, but classic nonetheless. For me at least. I think it was called Wishmaster...

I miss all the early '90s virtual reality movies like Strange Days, Virtuosity and Brainscan. Most of them were crap but they still had some cool ideas. Hopefully Romero will bring them back baby!
