So when I say “I’ve lost interest” that doesn’t mean every shred of it because I see everything with Bale in it it. I’d probably only stop watching Bale’s film if he did gay porn.

As I said at the beginning of the post: “The trailer was a bit boring.” It’s running the risk of not being the chase film the trailer made me think it is (if the runtime stays the way it is).

It may be just me, but some of the dialogue and scenes in the trailer seem very similar to ones in Penn’s Bonnie and Clyde.

Don’t care about IMDB users, but this sums up most Michael Mann films I’ve seen. Worst being The Insider, which ends, and then goes on for another hour.

I did like Collateral, Heat is pretty good, but also extremely long I thought.

Maybe Mann likes the look of the digital ghosting but that shit always takes me out of the movie.
Zodiac is a great example of how to treat digital video to make it look like film.

The trailer was a bit boring but I was glad to see that this felt more like it’d be an action film. Then I read an imdb user comment from a person who saw a test screening. They said:

“First, the movie ran about 2hrs 40mins. Probably an hour too long.”

And the user goes on to explicate some dismal qualities of the film. That runtime is daunting…this doesn’t look Godfather quality! I’ve lost interest. Even mah nigga Bale wielding a tommy gun with one hand can’t sway me. Hopefully Mann trims it down.

True. But Collateral looked good (while Miami Vice was a bit sterile). Public Enemies looks like this has practically no color timing which looks bland and feels odd for a period drama.

Well, Zodiac was shot on digital and it looked great (I thought anyways). It might not work as well with this type of movie though. Digital just doesn’t really pop like film does. I dunno, we’ll see. Regardless, I think it looks pretty cool.

Yeah this movie looks great, Michael Mann is a great director and this has some really talented actors/actresses.

I don’t think you can really evaluate the video quality from an embedded video player.

It looks a bit generic but Mann, Depp, I’m not gonna worry about some trailer.
