Megan Fox to Make Fanboys Sweat in Jonah Hex and Fathom
To this day I’m still not sure whether it was Megan Fox or the sports cars that elicited more gasps from the predominantly male teenage crowd when I saw Transformers, but either way it’s pretty clear that Fox is a hot commodity in Hollywood right now. Of course, she doesn’t seem to have a lick of acting talent, but that’s clearly beside the point. Wisely, she seems intent on sticking to the comic book/sci-fi genre for the foreseeable future, as she has just signed on to star in two new comic book movies: Jonah Hex and Fathom.
Jonah Hex is a project that we’ve already been hearing plenty about. Josh Brolin will star as the titular scarred gunslinger, while John Malkovich plays the villain Turnbull. Fox enters the project rather predictably as the love interest, Leila, who is described as a “gun-wielding beauty”. Fathom, on the other hand, is a project based on the Top Cow comic book by Michael Turner. She will play the lead role of Aspen Matthews, a scantily-clad amnesiac who discovers she has amazing underwater powers. Fox will not just star but also help develop the film since she is a fan of the comic book. Did you hear that, super geeks? Not only is she hot but she likes comics too! OMG! I must admit to having marginal interest in either of these movies, but I’m sure they’re destined to do quite well. What are your thoughts on Jonah Hex and Fathom?

Posted by chris on March 4th, 2009I have the first 5-10 issues of Fathom and there is potential for a good movie (although back in that day I bought it for the art). With Fox starring it already seems as if the film may be going sour…but they will sell tickets for constant skeletal bikini action. If only Michael Turner was around to see Fathom happen…
