Thx for your comments that I pretty much agree with, Rob J.

In Enter the Dragon, I was disappointed to find out that Bruce Lee didn't perform that somersault in the air near the beginning of the movie. (When Lee is exploring Han's grounds, there's a scene I hate where they reversed the film to show Bruce Lee jumping into a tree.) I guess it's unfair to think that our heroes can do everything.

I am sure Jaa and Jeeja have stunt doubles as well.

A very surreal martial arts film. It is very unusual to have the central character with a much misunderstood
condition,but it works.

Some of the fight scenes defied description. I doubt very much whether Bruce Lee at his very best, would be able to match Tony J and JeeJa's astonishing physical grace who are two of the finest martial arts performers in decades. It also has to be said that regrettably if JeeJa was male, her profile would be much bigger....

Well worthy viewing.

Matt, I was wondering if someone was going to speak up about the Killer Imports being all Asian. I asked Sean if there were any foreign non-Asian films he had that I could review, but I think he wanted to review them himself. Sean wanted to review Chocolate as well. Hopefully, he'll post his review of the movie soon.

I wouldn't say that I have a preference for Asian films. It's just that I have relatively easy access to them. I'm sure there must be countries that have a thriving film industry that we rarely in North America get to see films from. I was actually hoping that Film Junk readers would be able to enlighten me as to some good foreign films they have seen. Maybe someone could discover another "Let the Right One In" for the rest of us.

If anyone has a Chinatown in his or her city, (s)he can probably find any of the movies I've reviewed. Once, my friend and I went into an East Indian section of town to see if a DVD store there could recommend some good Bollywood movies. If I wanted to find the latest and greatest Danish films, where would I go? I don't even know which Internet sites are good for finding good foreign films.

Steven, I haven't seen Born to Fight, yet. I'll have to check it out. Eve and jan-christoph, thx for your interesting comments.

Aintitcoolnews intoduced this movie as THE film to watch on valentines day. So I bought it, made hot choclate and watched the movie with my girlfriend...we really enjoyed it (we are both TonJaa fans). If your girlfriend isn't I wouldn't recomend this movie ;)
I also believe that choclate is even a bit better than ong bak and revenge of the warrior because of the very interesting opening (instead of half an hour asian villagepeople)and the fightscenes can defanatly hold up the high quality standart that TonyJaa set.
I would give this movie 8 out of 10.

I understand. It was just some good natured ribbing. I actually enjoy this segment quite a bit. Especially Reed's take on things.

Hey Matt, I'm hoping to eventually have more variety in the foreign films covered, but since Reed is the only one writing them right now, it kinda skews toward his personal preferences.

I had an import of this from way back, but I held off watching it when I heard that it was screening at Midnight Madness at the Toronto International Film Festival. It was easily one of the best screenings I've ever been to.

My appreciation of Pinkaew's recent films seems to go in reverse order of everyone else's. I liked Chocolate more than Ong Bak, but not as much as Born To Fight, which might be creeping into my favourite movies of all time.

I guess "foreign-language films from around the world" means "East-Asian."

You can see the trailer on Hulu. I came across it last night when I was voting on the hulu awards. Looks pretty interesting and she does all her own stunts!
