Weekly Poll Results: Most Deserving Best Picture Nominee

Last week we asked you guys which of this year’s five Best Picture nominees most deserved to win. While there are obviously plenty of other movies people wanted to see up for the award (ie. The Wrestler, The Dark Knight), when forced to choose, over half of you agreed with Academy’s decision to honour Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire. I actually thought the number would be higher, but both Milk and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button had a significant number of supporters, taking about 17% of the votes each. The general impression I get is that people are actually satisfied with the Academy’s choices for once.
1. Slumdog Millionaire — 55.2%
2. Milk — 17.9%
3. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button — 17.2%
4. The Reader — 6.2%
5. Frost/Nixon — 3.4%

Much as I’ve been trying not to be bitter…
“Slumdog” took Sound Mixing! Come on!
I feel like the only WALL-E enthusiast around here. And, dammit all, my allegiance to it cost me my Oscar pool!
But I’m not bitter…
