Star Trek Motion Picture Trilogy and Collection Blu-ray Specs

A couple of weeks ago we brought you news of a potential release date for the original Star Trek movies on Blu-ray, and now this week Paramount has officially confirmed the release of these classic flicks in two convenient packages: the Star Trek: Motion Picture Trilogy (includes Star Trek II, III and IV) and Star Trek: Original Motion Picture Collection (includes Star Trek I-VI). Both will be available to own on May 12th, 2009 for a suggested retail price of $48.99 and $104.99 respectively.
While digitally remastered versions of these movies in high-definition should be enough for any Star Trek fan, there are also 14 hours of bonus material to look forward to (2.5 hours of which are brand new). Sounds like it’s time for Reed Farrington to invest in a Blu-ray player! After the jump, check out a full breakdown of the extras that will be included, courtesy of The Digital Bits.
