Official Inglourious Basterds Trailer Now Online in Inglourious HD

I resisted posting the crappy bootleg version of the trailer for Inglourious Basterds that was floating around earlier today (mainly because it kept getting pulled down anyway), but thankfully the whole thing has now gone online over at Yahoo! in HD. Sweet. Some people expressed initial concerns about seeing Brad Pitt in the lead role, but truth be told, it’s not just Pitt who seems out of place… the movie is full of actors that no one else would have the balls to cast as merciless Nazi killers. Samm Levine (Freaks and Geeks) and B.J. Novak (The Office) are equally unexpected (although Eli Roth, on the other hand, seems right at home).
Somehow, Tarantino manages to make it all work. This looks like yet another bloody, gruesome flick from QT, and at the end of the day, I think that’s really all that matters. It remains to be seen just how much inane dialogue we’ll all be forced to endure in between deaths, but regardless, I am really looking forward to this. What do you think, will it be just as polarizing as Death Proof was? Check out the full trailer via the link below. Inglourious Basterds hits theatres on August 21st.

Awesome.
P.S. – will there be a Weird Web Wednesdays post today?
Posted by RJ on February 11th, 2009Okay, now I’m excited.
Posted by Paul on February 11th, 2009I can’t believe QT is using Eli Roth as an actor, but he does look good.
Posted by Drew on February 11th, 2009Weird Web will be up later today, along with new Cantankerous hopefully.
Posted by Sean on February 11th, 2009Tarantino hasn’t made a proper film in over a decade. Kill Bill and Death Proof were both utter bilge.

Posted by Neil M on February 11th, 2009PUMPED!
Posted by Mitch on February 11th, 2009If I had to go by Pitt (and the brief snippet of Hitler at the end) alone, I would guess that this is actually a comedy.
Posted by Liz on February 11th, 2009@Liz: That’s a cool thing about the original: unlike every other WWII film in the universe it’s actually a lighthearted comedy.
It looks cool and luckily it doesn’t look like QT is rehashing old styles of filmmaking too much. One thing…where’s the Fred Williamson character?
Posted by Ryan M. on February 11th, 2009@ Ryan M: This isn’t a remake.
Posted by Rick on February 12th, 2009looking forward to the film still, even though this trailer is just kind of ‘meh’
