Land of the Lost Trailer Starring Will Ferrell and Danny McBride
The Will Ferrell backlash is in full effect, and everyone on the web seems determined to hate his upcoming movie Land of the Lost. The Super Bowl spot gave us our first taste of the family adventure comedy, based on the classic ’70s TV show created by Sid and Marty Krofft, and now a full two-and-a-half minute trailer has arrived online. While I can’t say this is one of my most anticipated movies of the summer, I do think it could be a lot of fun.
The trailer mainly fleshes out the big moments that were previously shown in the Super Bowl spot. Will Ferrell plays Rick Marshall, a kooky paleontologist who believes that time travel is possible, and one day he enters a time warp and finds himself stranded in a world of dinosaurs, primates and reptilian humanoids known as “Sleestaks”. It has the same feel as something like Jumanji, and with Danny McBride co-starring, I’m assuming there will be some decent laughs to be had. Anna Friel (Pushing Daisies) also co-stars. Land of the Lost is directed by Brad Silberling (Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events), and hits theatres on June 5th. Check out the trailer below and see what you think.
