In case anyone is interested, I thoroughly enjoyed Zodiac. I admit that I took a breakfast intermission midway through the film, but the film kept me awake through the whole thing. I especially liked how the movie defied Hollywood conventions in this mystery thriller. I know this is based on a true story, but that hasn’t stopped Hollywood before from making Hollywood type movies like Dirty Harry based on the same true story.

I noticed that there is a Star Trek reference in this film. I’m wondering now if there is a Star Trek reference in all of David Fincher’s movies…

My Dad is 53 years old and never seeks out a film unless it’s about Jesus or has Will Smith in it (and sleeps through almost everything I’ve tried to show him) but he watched ALL of Zodiac with me!

Henrik, is Zodiac a young man’s film? I purchased it recently even though I have no interest in the subject matter. I just remember Jay liking it a lot. (I get the feeling that I’ll dislike Zodiac as much as There Will Be Blood.) Maybe I’ll watch it tonight.

I liked Fight Club, but maybe the William Shatner reference is influencing me. (I also liked Alien 3 and Panic Room.)

Fight Club is definitely a young mans film. David Fincher is a young mans director.

I’d probably go see this if it was playing locally, but for me “Fight Club” just hasn’t held up. Even though it’s not that old, when I watch it these days, I don’t see the same things that amazed me when I was in film school. It’s just okay.
