This Week on DVD: Max Payne, Igor, Repo! The Genetic Opera

It’s a pretty blah week for DVD releases, unless you’re in the mood for some low budget horror I suppose. Not only is Saw V out on DVD in a predictably gruesome unrated edition, but also direct-to-DVD sequels Vacancy 2 and Boogeyman 3, plus Darren Lynn Bousman’s cult musical Repo! The Genetic Opera. Other titles in stores this week include the video game adaptation Max Payne, CG-animated Igor, football drama The Express, and kid’s sci-fi adventure film City of Ember. More importantly, how can you pass up Election on Blu-ray? You can’t.

I want to see Repo, purely as a curiosity. I hate when any movie bases their ad campaign on the film being “a sure-fire cult classic.” Let the audience decide that.
Posted by Jon Rocks on January 20th, 2009I can’t find “This American Life” anywhere. HMV doesnt even have it in its system.
Posted by Goon on January 20th, 2009Repo looks like such a hideous embarrassment that I kind of want to watch it.
Posted by Joel on January 21st, 2009Goon: It used to be a Borders exclusive, but I thought I’d heard it was made available at other retailers. Still, it’s pretty hard to find.
