Renny Harlin’s 12 Rounds Trailer Starring John Cena
Well I started off thinking I would post this trailer strictly for Greg, but after watching it I have to say I am actually kinda excited about it. 12 Rounds is the latest film being produced by the WWE, and the second starring pro wrestler John Cena. I never saw The Marine, but I heard it was terrible. The difference this time is that they managed to get the ultimate Hollywood jobber Renny Harlin in the director’s chair, and I think it has the potential to be his best movie in years (which is not really saying much).
Cena plays a detective who is forced to complete a series of 12 tasks by an ex-convict who has kidnapped his girlfriend. Basically it looks like a throwback to what I like to call the “serial killer playing cat and mouse games” genre, which includes movies like Speed, Seven and Die Hard with a Vengeance. The acting looks horrible, but hey, there are some killer explosions in the trailer including one of the most over the top blowbacks I’ve ever seen. Cena also looks enough like Matt Damon that I’m hoping they’ll ask him to take over the role of Jason Bourne whenever Damon decides to call it quits. 12 Rounds hits theatres on March 27th. And holy crap, there are a LOT of explosions in that trailer.

Looks like Renny wishes that he had the opportunity to direct Die Hard With A Vengeance. So now he makes a movie that rips off that with some Saw elements. No thanks.

And it will be the second movie that John Cena has been in, involving his love intrest being takin by the head villain. I’ve enjoyed most of Renny Harlins films, even though they’re over the top action flicks, like, The Long Kiss Goodnight and Cliffhanger.

i found the marine ok nothing good but it had it’s moments in it with the small laughable jokes.
