Eric Valette’s Hybrid Trailer: Killer Cars are Back!

If you were a fan of horror movies back in the ’80s, no doubt you have fond memories of Stephen King’s Christine and Maximum Overdrive (or even before that, Steven Spielberg’s made-for-TV movie Duel). Yes, believe it or not, there was a time when movies about killer cars somehow didn’t seem so far-fetched, and now I’m happy to report that director Eric Valette wants to relive those days with his upcoming movie Hybrid!

Of course, today’s audiences may find Michael Bay’s Transformers to be a more familiar reference point, but no matter… this looks like it could be a lot of fun. The movie is about the mechanics who work at a police impound garage, where one night a car is brought in that seems to have a mind of its own. It is able to morph into different shapes, and then it starts trying to hunt them down. Eric Valette previously did the widely-panned U.S. remake of One Missed Call, but I understand his French film Maléfique is pretty solid. Check out the trailer below and see what you think.

  1. I wonder if the soundtrack will feature the Radiohead song of the same name?

  2. It looks like butt.

  3. I really liked the song, hope that’s the score. Super early 90’s.

  4. What’s not to like about killer cars?

  5. This was a trailer made while in mid production. It was meant for potential buyers and not for a wide audience. How in the blue hell did you get this?
