Colore Non Vedenti Full Trailer
I hate editing trailers. It’s a lot harder than you think. The ability to sum up a story in 3 minutes or so without giving away too much of the film while still building interest in the audience is a very fine art form. Maybe this is why so many trailers suck shit. Seeing as Colore Non Vedenti is a short film that will only see an internet/possible minor film festival release, there was no real point in doing a trailer. The main reason was to have something to put up here on Film Junk and over at the production blog for those of you interested in the film. So here it is! Hopefully it sums up the story in 3 minutes or so without giving away too much of the film while still building interest in the audience!!

Jay, looks really awesome. I very much look forward to the release of the full film. And good job cutting the trailer, the best ones always seem to hinge on the most expositive, yet vauge, bit of dialogue in the film…which i believe you did here. I could be wrong.
Still. well done.
Posted by Bob The Slob on December 31st, 2008How pissed is Reed that you don’t get to see his name in the trailer?
Posted by Dan on December 31st, 2008Kristan is a cuty…. Like I said before the stuff meets the signal. There’s your pitch. How long is it?
Posted by Theman on December 31st, 2008Jay great trailer! WE appreciate your hard work on this project!
Even if you cut it at 1:20 (end it off with scary music), it still would have been fine!
Posted by Tomas on December 31st, 2008What is the name of the song used in this trailer?
Posted by James on December 31st, 2008Great stuff! Can’t wait to see it!
Posted by ottobud on December 31st, 2008is that the There Will Be Blood score?
Posted by Goon on December 31st, 2008Bob The Slob: Thanks!
Dan: Not sure if he’s seen it yet, but I’ll be showing him tonight. Maybe we’ll tape his reaction.
Theman: Yes, The Stuff is a very obvious influence. I love that movie. The final film will be about 30 minutes.
Tom: I saw an episode of TMZ where they were showing pics of Katies Holmes cold sores. You would’ve loved it!
James: There are three songs in the trailer. In order of appearance:
The Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra & Tra-La-La Band & Choir – Built Then Burnt (Hurrah! Hurrah!)
Jonny Greenwood – Henry Plainview (There Will Be Blood Soundtrack)
Ennio Morricone – Magic And Ecstacy (The Exorcist II: The Heretic Soundtrack)
ottobud: Great! Hope you like the final film.
Goon: Yes.

I’m aware of them and attribute them to stress. Rumour has it that “the other Tom” wants to up Brangelina by having TEN children….I “kid” you not.
Posted by Tomas on December 31st, 2008I seriously can’t wait for this, this trailer really is awesome. The music is perfect, and Tom and even Reed look totally badass in this. Good job Jay!
Posted by Drew on December 31st, 2008Does sean have a part in this?
Posted by Drew on December 31st, 2008Nifty, something to look forward to in the coming New Year.
Posted by Ian on January 1st, 2009So Jay showed me the trailer tonight. Since I have no lines of dialogue, it’s not surprising that I don’t get my name in the trailer. I do look really scary in the trailer. And my look was done without any special make-up effects.
Jay did an excellent job selecting which lines of dialogue went into the trailer. And the music choice is excellent as well.

I say, fuck story, just give the audience atmosphere and cool scene over bad ass sound track over the shortest amount of time.
That’s what we did with our christmas horror flick

Swarez….nice!
Posted by Tomas on January 1st, 2009Fucking awesome trailer!
Posted by Bas on January 1st, 2009Any chance of a ‘Colore Non Vedenti’ and ‘Unholy Night’ double-bill?
Posted by Bas on January 1st, 2009I might also add that I did the soundtrack for the trailer first and then had it cut to fit.
Posted by swarez on January 1st, 2009Well done on that trailer Jay! Looking forward to the final version. I must say I got a little bit of a Bad Taste vibe going. The disgusting looking Jelly and the cheft sorta reminded me of P.Jacksons flick…but maybe it´s just me?)
Also just finished listening to the 200th episode – enjoyable… as it usuallly is. Keep it up guys.
Cheers

The close up on Tom during the credits is priceless.

Posted by Connor on January 1st, 2009Jay Have you seen Italian spiderman? Because I think you’d love it.
Posted by Theman on January 1st, 2009Dude !
Looks like fucking fun.
Excited to see it.
I’m still not sure what it’s about or what is going on but that’s part of what’s interesting to me about it.
Ennio Morricone.good.
Old school vector credits,good.
Strange psychological premise with moody lighting, good.
Jello molds,good.
Reed slowly walking down a dark corridor, good.
Yr shit look good.
Posted by MoriaOrc on January 2nd, 2009Halley Shannon looks super freaking cute too.
Posted by MoriaOrc on January 2nd, 2009All I can say is: “AWESOMENESS” The musical arrangements and old-school look of things combined with a very modern cinematography and style is well: Classy.
Kudos.
Posted by Kurt on January 2nd, 2009MoriaOrc, thx for the nod in my direction.
Also I wondered if anyone was going to comment on Haley. After I met her, I dubbed her the next Rachel MacAdams. BTW, we’re both from the same hometown: Sudbury, Ontario, Canada.
Posted by Reed Farrington on January 2nd, 2009Reed, when I first met her in person, she gave off a “Star Quality” vibe. If she doesn’t make it big, I’d be shocked.
Posted by Tomas on January 2nd, 2009Good cut of the trailer Jay.. look forward to the full release.
Posted by cuebert on January 3rd, 2009So is there gore?
LET THERE BE GORE!!!
Posted by Ryan M. on January 5th, 2009Number 4 is right. Ending it with the music from “There will be blood” would have been awesome.
Loved the use of the font from “Dead and Buried”.
This looks really great.
