Night at the Museum 2 Trailer Starring Ben Stiller

I never saw Night at the Museum, but it pretty much cleaned up over the holidays back in 2006, taking in an astounding $574 million worldwide. I suppose a sequel was inevitable, and although the second installment won’t be ready for this year’s holiday season, they have managed to release a trailer just in time for Christmas. That’s right, the first trailer for Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian premiered last Friday over on… the McDonald’s Happy Meal website? Makes sense.
All of your favourite characters are returning including Teddy Roosevelt (Robin Williams), Attila the Hun (Patrick Gallagher), and Octavius (Steve Coogan) — but wait, there’s more! This time they’ve also added Einstein (Eugene Levy), Amelia Earhart (Amy Adams), Ivan the Terrible (Christopher Guest) and General Custer (Bill Hader), not to mention Jonah Hill, Owen Wilson, and Hank Azaria. Was that Mike Myers as Abraham Lincoln? If not, they certainly stole his act. Either way, this looks like it could be fun, and I heard the original was decent, so I might check this out. Night at the Museum 2 hits theatres on May 22nd, 2009. Check out the trailer below and see what you think.

I’m ashamed to say I’ll totally go see this movie. The first one wasn’t great but it totally delivered on how awesome the museum-coming-alive thing could be. The first one had too much juvenile humour in it, which makes sense given its demographic but I’m hoping they add some stuff in for the adults in this one.

Posted by joe on December 22nd, 2008Really? I don’t get it seems like combining many historical figures in a farce-like action comedy would be more fun if it weren’t confined to some building. Why not just do a more epic remake of Bill and Ted or something?
Posted by Ian on December 23rd, 2008I believe Lincoln could be Hank Azaria or another voice from the Simpsons.
