For once, couldn't Hollywood give us a movie about a young lawyer who ISN'T a hotshot? Maybe someone who isn't big on lawyering, someone who really just wants to settle down, open a pizza joint and take his son to t-ball games. But his parents' ambitions pushed him through law school all the way to the top, and he's looking back saying to himself, "This isn't what I wanted. This isn't it at all." That's the kind of lawyer movie I want to see.

I think it is sick and horrible that they option things and try to adapt them w/o the source material present (like they did with Wanted)....I don't get it.

Isn't the main point of an adaptation (by a corporate bastard) to cash in on a fanbase that is already there? Aren't there some finished books (inb4 the same go to novelists like King, Grisham, and Clancy) that still go w/o ownership by a studio? Aren't there original screenplays by the pros that just simply aren't being read? A

Are my questions all futile because there isn't any originality or common sense in Hollywood?
