Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes Planning Last Tango in Paris Remake?

Gotta love those British tabloids… they keep cooking up some seriously amazing rumours. This week there’s a report from NOW Magazine that says Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are looking to star in a movie together that is “cutting edge and sexy, but also accessible”. Their solution? A remake of Bernardo Bertolucci’s Last Tango in Paris!
Does anyone out there really want to see TomKat engaging in graphic sex scenes in a movie? One can’t help but be reminded of Cruise’s former on-screen performance with ex-wife Nicole Kidman in Eyes Wide Shut. If you ask me, that might be when we first started to see traces of the public Tom Cruise backlash that is now in full effect some 10 years later (although critics did applaud it at the time). I really can’t take this particular rumour seriously, especially since Tom Cruise should probably separate himself from Holmes professionally if he wants to get his career back on track. Then again, who knows… it would be yet another baffling remake, which means it’s probably all true!

Posted by Greg on November 29th, 2008Tom Cruise’s career has suffered irreparable damage. If he had some fantastic performance in a flick that might change; but this is obviously impossible because he really isn’t a great actor.

Posted by Ryan M. on November 29th, 2008Ryan, stop letting the media and Tom’s religious views override the evidence. Cruise has done some amazing work – War of the Worlds, Jerry Maguire, Collateral, Magnolia, A Few Good Men, and Born on the Fourth of July…he still has a few left in him, hell he could even be better as a older actor
