The first trailer for Tony Gilroy’s Duplicity has just turned up online, and no, unfortunately it’s not a sequel to Multiplicity starring Michael Keaton. What it is, is a comedic thriller of sorts, about two corporate spies (played by Clive Owen and Julia Roberts) working together to pull off the ultimate con job. Tony Gilroy previously wrote and directed Michael Clayton, and based on the strength of that movie alone I’ll definitely be checking this out. Still, the trailer didn’t really blow me away or anything. It felt very much like Ocean’s Eleven or another light-hearted heist movie, which is not necessarily a bad thing… just not what I expected. Paul Giamatti and Tom Wilkinson also co-star; Duplicity hits theatres on March 20th, 2009. Check out the trailer below, or watch it in Quicktime HD over at Apple.com.
