Greg Mottola’s Adventureland Trailer Starring Jesse Eisenberg
Although most of the credit for the hit comedy Superbad was heaped on producer Judd Apatow, director Greg Mottola is finally starting to get his due as well. After a directorial debut called The Daytrippers (which Sony is thinking about re-releasing), Mottola cut his teeth on such TV shows as Arrested Development and Undeclared before doing Superbad. Now he’s got a new comedy on the way that he wrote himself called Adventureland, about a recent college grad who takes a summer job at an amusement park.
The lead role in this movie is played by Jesse Eisenberg, who was amazing in The Squid and the Whale, and the supporting cast includes Kristen Stewart, Ryan Reynolds and Bill Hader. The trailer makes it clear that this isn’t going to be a raunchy teen sex comedy, but rather more of a coming of age story. The movie is set during the ’80s, and feels like it is based at least partially on Mottola’s own personal experiences. Is this going to be the movie that makes Greg Mottola a household name? Adventureland hits theatres on March 27th; check out the trailer below.

Posted by xrader on April 3rd, 2009only someone expecting Superbad 2 could think this was bad.
its an artful throughtful coming of age movie, and its funny, and the best thing i’ve seen to date this year, easily. Freaks and Geeks meets Dazed and Confused. Got a problem with that? then stay away.
