New To Theatres This Weekend: Quantum of Solace, Slumdog Millionaire, A Christmas Tale

There’s not much competition out there for Bond this weekend, but if you happen to live near one of the 10 or so theatres playing Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire, it’s definitely worth checking out. Other limited releases include doo wop comedy The Dukes, cancer documentary The Beautiful Truth, and the French dramedy A Christmas Tale. Let’s face it, I think most of us are going to see Quantum of Solace!

Quantum of Solace is entertaining at least… a fantastic job with the styling and picture quality, but the movie as a whole could stand to lose six or seven fewer chase scenes
Posted by Patrick on November 15th, 2008the pacing of QoS is pretty great, its never boring or slow, but its at the cost of cutting those exposition scenes that pad most Bond movies. Without them it becomes a lot more convulated, with a lot of things not making sense until the scene is done and people are cleaning up his mess. So while I liked it overall, its no “Casino Royale”. Loved whatshisface from “Munich” as the villain.
