I’m in the minority, but enjoyed TDAT. Apocalypse movies are nearly always good in my book, but then we had M. Knight Shamalamading-dong’s “The Happening” which broke the trend. That too had a good trailer, so who knows ? Could be good, could be bad.

I just watched 10.000 BC a couple of days ago and it was fucking horrible, even by his standards. Just utter shit.

Fantastic teaser though but that has always been the case with Emmerich, brilliant first glimpses to lure you in the seat and that deliver a cinematic turd on a silver platter. And I fall for it every god damn time.

The Day After Tommorow might have been a critical, cinematic, and artistic dud…but it was financially successful sean…It was no dud at the box office, hence giving emmerich the chance to keep remaking it…wether it takes place 12,000 years ago or only a few years later.

This teaser was pretty cool. The only problem is– with a title like 2012, the film becomes so passe in, say, 2013. And it only gets worse in 2025, when you look back at it. It’s only saving grace for future viewers is if it is so horrendously bad that it becomes a laughable cult movie.

But as for right now, while the world still might just end in 2012, the movie looks pretty cool.
