One of my favourite movies of the summer hits stores this week, along with a handful of animated films and also the start of some holiday-oriented titles. Guillermo Del Toro’s Hellboy II: The Golden Army is a must-buy on Blu-ray if you have access to it; other releases include Kung Fu Panda (which actually came out over the weekend), Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Takashi Miike’s Sukiyaki Western Django, and Scottish film Hallam Foe starring Jamie Bell. If you dig a little deeper you’ll find the long awaited Flaming Lips movie Christmas on Mars, breakdancing documentary Planet B-Boy, and a snowboarding comedy starring Tom Green called Shred.
