More Terrible Spoofs: Dance Flick and 2012-ish: The Day the Earth Bent Over

Just when we thought someone had finally come up with the spoof movie to end all spoof movies, along come two more unimaginative comedies that are pretty much guaranteed to suck. First up, the new Wayans Brothers spoof, Dance Flick, which as you can probably guess, is a parody of the dance movie craze that has been going on lately. MTV scored a look at the first poster, which you can see above. I wonder why it’s called “Flick” instead of “Movie” though. Do the Wayans want to avoid associating themselves with crap like Epic Movie now?

Also, Screen Daily reports that MGM has picked up an end-of-the-world comedy formerly known as Armageddagain: The Day Before Tomorrow, which has since been renamed to the more timely and much more clever 2012-ish: The Day The Earth Bent Over. A guy named Robert Moniot is directing it, and producer Hadeel Reda insists that it is “a comedic satire in the vein of Airplane and Young Frankenstein… with sharp dialogue and visual humor like the original classics of the genre”. That’s funny because WE DON’T BELIEVE YOU. 2012-ish starts shooting in March in Louisiana. Can’t wait.

  5. I think that Armageddagain: The Day Before Tomorrow is a much better title.

  6. ha, yeah that’s what i was talking about

  7. Of course they’re calling it “Flick” instead of “Movie”, To get away from the previous spoof movies (Disaster, Epic, etc). The Wayans normally do a good job at Spoof movies so i’ll give them a chance.
