Pineapple Express, Tropic Thunder, Step Brothers, Zach and Miri, the Apatow movies--Ernst Lubitsch they ain't. They're all relying mostly on a kind of low humor. But they happen to be stellar examples of it. I will look back on 2008 as a great year for comedy movies despite the presence of the "Movie" movies. Yeah this sounds like it will probably be bad.
