I remember having a teacher in Grade Seven or so who warned all the girls in our class that while we may be swooning for the beautiful, popular or funny guys we should really be paying attention to the geeks and nerds because they were the ones who were going to be going places with their futures. :) Doesn't mean teenage girls actually listen to that advice, of course, but it makes it harder to like the self-proclaimed "nice guys" when they end up just like the guys you've been warned off.
