Big Surprise: Some Fanboy Wants Megan Fox to Play Wonder Woman

We haven’t really heard anything about a standalone Wonder Woman movie since Joss Whedon was removed from the project back in early 2007, but there have continued to be some amusing casting rumours nonetheless including Jessica Biel, Eva Green, and Katie Holmes (among others). The latest word is that Wonder Woman is one of the main DC Comics properties that Warner Brothers wants to get on the big screen within the next few years, but of course, there’s still no director attached and certainly no casting confirmed.
Well apparently this week another fan took it upon himself to impress upon the world his own personal casting choice for the role. His pick? Transformers star Megan Fox, of course! He created a series of posters at the website wonder-who.com and built a fake viral campaign around it that was apparently enough to fool some people into thinking it was the real deal. It’s not. Nonetheless, the posters look somewhat authentic, even if the taglines are pretty lame. Personally I believe that Fox would be a terrible choice, mainly because I can’t see her doing anything more than her spoiled brat/airhead act. If it were true though, I’m pretty sure the internet would undergo a collective nerdgasm. What do you think, could Fox pull it off? Who would you like to see as Wonder Woman?

Don’t get me wrong– I think Megan Fox is hot. But she looks too… dumb to play wonder woman. She honestly has a look about her that makes me think she’d be dumb as a box of rocks, and I don’t see her making a success out of that film, beyond her ass looking amazing in that suit.
Posted by Jon Rocks on November 6th, 2008Whose to say her ass in that suit wouldn’t be enough to make the film a success?
Posted by The Hoge on November 6th, 2008Megan Fox cannot act. It would be nice if on the rare occasion we get a female super hero as the main character rather than as a sidekick that they cast someone who’d be able to convey some modicum of intelligence and actually make women proud. I know superhero movies are not exactly aimed at women, but that’s no excuse to cast someone just so fanboys can blow their loads over a completely vapid choice.
You know, they’re always telling girls to go for the geeks and the nerds because they’re nice guys, but stuff like this shows me they can be just as fantastically shallow as non-nerds.
I’m glad this is fake because it’s absolutely ridiculous. I don’t know who I’d cast in this role, but please don’t let it be someone like Megan Fox.

Posted by Sean on November 6th, 2008Clearly you were never an adolescent girl. I remember having a teacher in Grade Seven or so who warned all the girls in our class that while we may be swooning for the beautiful, popular or funny guys we should really be paying attention to the geeks and nerds because they were the ones who were going to be going places with their futures.
Doesn’t mean teenage girls actually listen to that advice, of course, but it makes it harder to like the self-proclaimed “nice guys” when they end up just like the guys you’ve been warned off.
Posted by Liz on November 6th, 2008Yeah, Fox has the look but lacks the acting chops to carry a whole movie. I’d say Kate Beckinsale or Jessica Biel could pull it off. My choice would be Mary Elizabeth Winstead, but she would need to add some muscle and a few more acting lessons.
Posted by Zuguide on November 6th, 2008I just watched the Indy 4 on BD (looked awesome). Cate Blanchett would be perfect! I have to believe Wonder Woman could kick my ass and be Queen of the Amazons. The sweet act of coitus should only be the 3rd thing on my mind.
Sexist comment was sexist. I don’t feel like putting it lightly right now. Yes, I know Liz. Another “nice guy” or “nerd” sounding like an ass.

……….whut?
Posted by Ryan M. on November 6th, 2008The posters were apparently good enough to fool the international media. Here’s a story from Australia, which is closely following development of the Justice League film in development with native Megan Gale in talks for the Wonder Woman role:

Posted by Ashley on November 6th, 2008Personally, I deeply feel that the best person to play Wonder Woman is, Rebecca Romijn. After seeing her in the movie, Femme Fatale, I’d have to say that she’s got my vote. She’s tall enough for the part, not ta mention a hot bod ta die for. Their are certain scenes in,
Femme Fatale, where her hair is dyed black; which gave me the thought. For the longest time I was always thinkin about who could really pull it off (Jennifer Connely/Sandra Bullock/Rhona Mitra).
Romijn is truly the best choice, and I’m sure I’m not alone on that idea. Check her pics out on google and picture it for yourself.

Posted by Rick on November 7th, 2008Her casting would guarantee camp classic status! Personally I don’t see this working as a feature film no matter who is cast!

Posted by paulieq on November 9th, 2008STANA KATIC for sure. She is tall, beautiful, dynamic…and we’ve seen her kick ass as Det. Beckett. Oh yeah, she can definitely act too.
