Get Smart Special Edition DVD with Shoe Phone Packaging

I wasn’t all that impressed with the new Get Smart movie starring Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway, but as a fan of the original Get Smart, I can’t help but love this awesome 2-disc Shoe Phone DVD packaging that someone at Warner Brothers came up with. It might just be enough to convince me to buy it. Here in Canada it is an exclusive edition only available at Future Shop; I believe it is available as a Region 4 release in Australia as well but I haven’t heard about a U.S. release so far. If you see it anywhere else, let us know! The 2-disc special edition will also be available in a non-Shoe Phone package. Get Smart hits stores next Tuesday (Nov. 4th).

It’s available at Best But in the US. I thought it was an alright movie, may pick this edition up.

Posted by Jason on November 2nd, 2008I used to think original cases to DVDs were cool; but at some point I was drawn to the homogeneous nature of a shelf full of amaray. Things like this take too much space…I’m running out!
Posted by Ryan M. on November 2nd, 2008Yeah, I was going to mention I saw that in the best buy ad today.
Does the phone actually work? I’m doubting it but that would make me buy it.
Posted by Alex R. Cronk-Young on November 2nd, 2008Just purchased this “shoe-phone” thing packaging from Best Buy, and when opened fully it’s about a foot long (duh). I haven’t had time to watch it yet but like the fact that the dial-rotary does function and makes a mechanical sound when spun. Retails for $244.99…would you believe, $24.99???
Posted by Douglas Roy on November 4th, 2008If I have the cash (and I do live near a Future Shop, in downtown Toronto) I’ll be buying it; I loved the movie, and hope that there will be more. The haters can shut their holes and stick to the original series on DVD.
