New Fanboys Poster Adds a Darth Vader Helmet to The 40-Year-Old Virgin

In order to combat the recently announced Fanboys delay, The Weinstein Company has released a handful of new photos and a new poster for the movie to try to and maintain whatever little bit of momentum they might possibly have left. The funny thing is, as soon as I saw this poster, my initial thoughts were (a) it looks like a bad fan photoshop job, and (b) it looks like a direct reference to The 40-Year-Old Virgin theatrical poster.

When comparing the two side by side, there are a few more differences than I thought there would be, but come on… you can’t tell me that’s just a coincidence! I guess they were hoping that we might associate the two movies subconsciously… sneaky bastards. Hey, if Fanboys ends up being as good as The 40-Year-Old Virgin, I’ll snort lines of cocaine off the sweaty stomach of an obese Star Wars nerd! (Okay, no I won’t.) Anyway, you can check out the poster and new photos over at Cinematical right now.

  1. Admittedly, I enjoy the “Never tell them the odds” tagline. The helmet doesn’t look right sitting on that body.

  2. You gotta be kidding me, right?

  3. Fuck Yeah I thought the same, Sean.
