Jared Hess Launches Gentlemen Broncos Viral Videos Starring Jemaine Clement

Up until now I knew next to nothing about Jared Hess’ upcoming movie Gentlemen Broncos, except that it starred Sam Rockwell, Michael Angarano and Jemaine Clement. Of course, that cast, in addition to Hess’ previous films Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre, are more than enough to get me on board, but now I’m just a little bit more excited about it.
Gentlemen Broncos still does not have a release date, but they are starting the marketing campaign early with some good ol’ viral videos. It seems that Jemaine Clement (Flight of the Conchords, Eagle vs Shark) plays Ronald Chevalier, some sort of kooky sci-fi author and musician who has released a couple of short instructional videos online for us to enjoy. Yeah, the viral marketing thing isn’t as fresh as it used to be, but Jemaine Clement is one funny guy and I am digging the quirky vibe these vids are giving off. Can’t wait to see more from this movie. Check out the first two Ronald Chevalier videos below, or visit his website at RonaldChevalier.com for more info on his works Cyborg Harpies, Brain Cream, and the all-new novel Brutus & Balzaak.

He sounds like Orson Welles– or more accurately The Brain, from Pinky & The Brain.

Posted by Ian on October 28th, 2008I always thought Flight of the Concords should have gotten more love in America. It is such a hilarious show. Is it still on HBO? I have the DVD, but who can afford HBO these days.
